Recorded November 1, 1919, and September 8 and November 29, 1921, in the Gramophone Company's Recording Room No. 1, Hayes, England. Issued piecemeal in Great Britain, as follows:
HMV D 536 and 537 (first and second movements): April, 1921
HMV D 587 (third movement): January, 1922
HMV D 613 (fourth movement): May, 1922
The set was deleted in August, 1927, at which time Ronald and the Royal Albert Hall Orchestra re-recorded the symphony electrically.

Recorded on November 22, 1921, for Parlophon in Berlin, on 78-rpm matrices 2-5590 through 2-5595. Issued in Germany as Parlophon P 1265 through 1267 in 1922, in the USA as Odeon 5008 through 5010 in January, 1923, and in England as Parlophone E 10052 through 10054 in December, 1923. Each release credits the orchestra differently; the German one calls it an anonymous "Grosses Symphonie-Orchester," the American one the "Orchestra of the German Opera House, Berlin," and the English one the "Orchestra of the State Opera House, Berlin."
